Before the big battle there's a smaller version. La Tomatina Infantil 2026 takes place on Saturday, 22 August, at 12:00 pm, in the Plaza del Pueblo in Buñol.
Created for children aged 4 to 14, this "mini battle" lasts around 30 to 40 minutes and follows the same spirit as the original Tomatina, but on a smaller, more controlled scale. Entry is free.
A few tips if you're bringing the kids:
- Bring a towel and a full change of clothes.
- Swimming or goggles are recommended. Children's eyes are more sensitive to the tomato acid.
- Arrive a little before 12:00 to find a good spot in the square.
It's the perfect way for the youngest members of the family to get a taste of this unique tradition, in a safer and calmer environment than the adult version.
